Frequently Asked Questions

How Document Digital Rights Management protects your files.

Document DRM stands for Document Digital Rights Management. It is the technical enforcement of access rules on a document after it has been shared. DociShield builds these controls into every document at the point of upload.
When someone asks how to prevent a PDF from being downloaded, how to revoke access after sending, or how to send a secure link instead of an email attachment, the answer is Document DRM. Password protection relies on the recipient following instructions. DRM enforces the rules at the infrastructure level regardless of what the recipient does.
Download limits, print restrictions, view limits, dynamic watermarking, expiry dates, and instant revocation.
No. DociShield's DRM controls are enforced at the infrastructure level, not the application layer. If you have restricted downloads, the recipient cannot download the file regardless of what they try. If you have restricted printing, they cannot print it. Forwarding the secure link to another person does not bypass any of these controls. The same rules apply to anyone who accesses the link.
